Day 4 Tofino ……a beaching day !!!

The G-kids are up and running…..nice breakfast with crepes by Grandpa (made previously at home and frozen)…..and its out the door, unfortunately the weather is less cooperative, but it is the Wet Coast and some cloud and cooler temperatures are no reason to delay…

Today we are all hiking to Tonquin Beach a few kilometres from Tofino….

Andre has decided that we must all play a game while walking >>> he runs ahead, then hides and we are to spot him….oh well, if not a paleontologist, then maybe a sniper in Canada’s Special Ops Unit, note how diligently everyone is looking for him…

…can you spot him below ?? We couldn’t >>> he got us !!

Nice walk through the woods where you never now what you can come across…..in this case a friendly banana slug…

…then out of the woods and onto Tonquin Beach which today was ours to explore with a super low tide as a bonus….

…Alex quite happy to be out of the carrier…

Back to the hacienda for lunch and a short break before mounting up and heading for Florencia Bay…..still overcast and a touch foggy…..

…didn’t stop the kids from having fun… and someone getting wet (and cold), it is the beach after all….

…..luckily we found the dying embers of a fire and grandpa was put to the task to get it started again (yes it is not a particularly attractive pose )…

Back to the house: drinks, tubs, more drinks, kids in bed and a lovely dinner to cap the day off…
