USA Road Trip Day 14…… Kennewick, WA to Oak Harbor, WA

The morning is windy but the weather is good as we set off ……Kennewick has a 9/11 Monument …… constructed from one of the vertical support columns salvaged from the site, it is simple but powerful……

……in the distance we can see Mt. Rainier…

…but as we hit the foothills…..the clouds roll in and it becomes a steady to torrential rainfall as we cross Snoqualmie Pass (now our change of heart looks like a good decision) …..

……..soon we approach Seattle, the sun peeks out and all is good again….

On the way to Oak Harbor, which is on Whideby Island, just off the coast and south of Seattle, we couldn’t resist a visit to REI > great selection of outdoor activity goodies, and, I found a nice day pack for our upcoming trip to Europe! In any event, arrived at Candlewood Suites in good order, checked-in and decided to have supper in, as the unit was quite nice. A rather uneventful day as we enter the last days of the trip.
