Day 5 & 6 Tofino …..more fun in the “sun” and heading home

Had a number of things to take care of …..so this post got delayed and delayed…..in any event here it is in fast forward.

Last full day (as we need to be out of the house by 10:00 AM tomorrow) dawned cloudy and cool. Decided to to split up with Steve, Ella and the G-kids headings for the playground…G-kids did not miss the beach !!!

…and the parental units checking out some other properties for “next” time as well as heading to the “end of the road” …

After lunch the weather started to make an effort and we all walk to Chesterman Beach (5 minutes from the house) to get a bit more beach time….

Steve and I head down the beach to check out the Wickannish Inn’s Beach Bistro …love the simplicity, alas it is only for guests …the server told us tonite was an all you can eat crab fest. Even at $70 each Steve and I could have put a serious dent in their crab stockpile !!

 

At our spot games came out, balls etc. and of course the requisite fire for for hot dogs/marshmallows…

 

Andre loved the water and eventually dared Ella & Steve to take the plunge >>> courageously they went but were back asap (thank god Andre did not dare me as I positively do not do cold water very well)…..

A great seafood dinner at home, kids are in bed…

….and Ella & Steve went for a drink at the Wickaninnish….one day we will have to stay at this iconic west coast hotel..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next morning time to pack up ..it is always amazing how long it takes to get everything organized, then hugs and bye, as we head off separately. First we head back to Ucluelet to pick up our fish > nice job: they cut up the fish in 1.5lb. portions, flash freeze them and label each portion > pack the cooler with salt ice and head for home.

This time we go via Comox as we can’t resist stopping at Fanny Bay to pick-up some oysters …a longish day (10 hours) with 2 ferries but a superb trip !!!

Our oyster friends had to wait till the following evening …..and they were DEEELICIOUS!!
