Day 3 Ucluelet to Tofino……meeting up with Ella & the G-kids

A pleasant morning, no fog > just enough time for a cup of tea on the shore and then we need to pack up and head towards Tofino.

On the way we did another hike on the  Pacific Trail …the folks here have really done a great job to allow people access to these wild shores…

A short break for my crew to “catch-up”……

….before leaving the rocky shores to look at Wickaninnish Beach which is officially the southern part of the 16km (10 mile) Long Beach. A wild, log strewn public sand beach which is part of the Pacific Rim National Park…..

Our next beach is much more intimate…Florencia Bay a 6km stretch of sand accessed by a nasty staircase which is fun for those with surf boards etc.:

The sightseeing is done with as we need to meet up with Ella & the boys at our VRBO near Chesterman Beach….they leave the old man to sort out the coolers, etc. while the rest of the gang head down to the beach….this lovely day continues…>>>>> click on pic to enlarge

 

Before supper Andre gets to try his hand at being a paleontologist ….an interesting “toy” Ella picked up in Coombs > you need to chip away at a block of clay to find a fossil (all equipment included)…obviously a hit with Andre, albeit a “bit” messy:

After dinner Annie volunteers to “baby sit” while the “kids” and I head down to the beach for cocktails and sunset….

…..an excellent day!!!
